Wilklow Orchards, located in the Hudson Valley, will bring us--nature permitting--a wide variety of high quality fruit throughout the season, including: all kinds of berries,  nectarines and peaches, red and black currants, apples, pears  and plums.

Wilklow Orchards operates using Integrated Pest Management, the state of the art, low impact growing technique for this region. 

With Wilklow Orchards aboard, we strengthen our commitment to local, sustainably grown fruit and vegetables while  providing our neighbors the best available regional produce from an enthusiastic,  accessible source. 

For those considering purchasing a fruit share, we invite you to meet Fred Wilklow and sample his wares at the Brooklyn Greenmarket at Borough Hall, where he has been stationed Tuesday and Saturdays since 1984.

Our family has been farming this land for six generations -- since 1855, and as times have changed, so have we. My husband, Fred, and I have been going to Greenmarket in Brooklyn, NY since 1984, and with the help of our four children, we also started pick-your-own apples at our home farm.

Both our families help make our place something different than the rest. Fred's mom (Grandma Apple) makes all our homemade jams and jellies. His father, when not in the field is sometimes making cider or doing the weekend hayrides. My mom does all the homemade breads and muffins, while my dad is the gopher. My sister, Dorothy is my right-hand person and helps with everything I do.

What we are saying is that we are a family farm. All of us at Wilklow Orchards would like to invite you to spend a day at our farm.

During the months of September and October you can enjoy a day in the country and pick your own apples on our upstate, Hudson Valley farm. We are sure you will enjoy harvesting your own apples. You can't find fresher apples than those you pick yourself!

So come to our farm and enjoy this year's harvest of apples, pumpkins, fresh-pressed cider and the autumn mums. Picnic beneath the apple trees and bring the kids. There'll be a hay jump, farm animals to pet, hot apple cider and hayrides.
