MISSION STATEMENT
The Long Island School Media Association has been organized for
the following purposes:
To encourage the professional growth of its membership.
To advance the standards of the teaching profession.
To cooperate with other organizations and agencies with similar
interests and purposes.
To promote the interests of education in respect to educational
media and technology.
To secure the conditions necessary to the greatest efficiency
of teacher and schools in respect to educational media and technology.
To plan, organize, and disseminate a newsletter and maintain
a directory of media personnel.
To provide opportunities for professional development and continuing
education credits.
To represent the membership in area, county, state, national,
and other professional organizations.
